I saw the new film “Chasing Ice” the other day, easily a new favorite of mine.  It is a documentary about National Geographic photographer James Balog’s quest to document glacial movement with time lapse photography in some of the most extreme environments on the planet.  I often found myself exclaiming due to the amazing cinematography and daredevil photography while sometimes having a tear in my eye as well – not the usual documentary fare.

“Astonishing cinematography and gripping narrative carry the viewer into reaches of the creation rarely encountered by any human. What we find there is beautiful beyond description and, disturbingly, disappearing. Everyone should see this film.”
– Rusty Pritchard, Flourish

It is playing in select cities in the US right now, website and trailer –
