I am very excited to finally blog about my trip to Colorado and New Mexico.  There is so much to cover that I decided to do it in installments.  So this first post is about the amazing USAF Academy Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO designed by Walter Netsch of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP of Chicago.  I have always wanted to see this amazing building, so this trip I stopped for a visit the afternoon my plane landed.  It was very cold and very grey so I just made a quick iPhone shot of the exterior.  When I went inside I was greeted by some very helpful Chapel Guides who showed me all around and even let me take photos from up in the balcony.  There was a beautiful, soft blue-ish light coming in through the 24,000 rectangular pieces of stained glass that run in rows between the 100 tetrahedonal frames that make up the structure of the building, it was stunning.
