“Soul revival” “Neo-Soul” “Southern Soul” – call it what you wish, Charles Bradley is the real deal. Like a time traveler he comes to us from the way back machine and delivers his powerful funk/soul/R&B mix, laying low all who see him live.  When I asked my more musically-inclined friends who to photograph at Bumbershoot this year they all said “Don’t miss Charles Bradley!”  He is called “The Screaming Eagle of Soul” for a reason.  Of course he blew away all expectations, literally preaching to the crowd, singing, dancing, wailing and crying, pouring out his heart and soul.  It was a difficult edit, I couldn’t stand to toss any photos of him!
