Yes, another band post! This one is headlined by an incredible performer and artist, a true favorite of mine, Charles Bradley. I got even more great images of The Screamin’ Eagle of Soul when he was here in 2011, but he just keeps getting better. Also check out the film “Charles Bradley – Soul of America” to learn more about his amazing life story (also on Netflix).
Charles was followed by the legendary sax man Maceo Parker.
I wandered into the EMP to find the pulsing electronic beats of the EDM showcase which included the DJ Supreme La Rock (do click his link for a unique internet experience) and several scantily clad dancers.
A Seattle classic, The Total Experience Gospel Choir, gave a rousing performance and reminded us all to go to church the next day.
My favorite Seattle band, The Maldives, once again turned in a masterful performance and I met their amazing drummer Faustine Hudson after the show!
I’ll have to admit that I had never heard of Nacho Picasso but he makes an incredible photo subject.
Seattle’s Down North is another band I hadn’t heard of but they were really great, sort of a Soul-Rock fusion, check out their video Heartbreaker.
